real certificates.
Sitemap - this is the page you are reading and its purpose
is to explain the purpose of all the other pages.
Philosophy - this page states the reasoning behind the
site and has details of how the site was born.
Guestbook - a place to make a comment about the
site. This is not a place to ask questions that you require an answer to. The Contact Us page is the place to
do that.
Join Free Here - this is the page where all
guests/visitors to the site can register to become members. This is not where you login if you are already
a member.
Help! (FAQ) - this page has a few popular questions
and answers. It is worth reading thispage before asking a question.
Contact Us - this is the page to ask any
questions which require an answer or to make suggestions. If you have a website and would like a link adding

before sumitting a certifcate to the database.
Search Page Tutorial - this page is designed to help
everyone getthe most out of the search pages. It explains how to search by name, year etc and how to put all the
data into alphabetical/year order etc.
Search UK Birth - this is the guest/vistors search page
for Birth certificates. It shows only limited information on each certificate. However it does show every
certificate so no-one has to register to see if the information they are seeking has been submitted. The search
page in the Members Menu has a view link next to every entry which dislays the full information on record.

for Marriage certificates. It shows only limited information on each certificate. However it does show every

The item in this menu are assessable to evryone visiting the site. They are offered in addition to the
main sites purpose.
Forum - the forum is a place to ask anyone for help
or offer help to others. You can also chat about your experiences and interests. There are lots of sections
on the forum for different topics such as brickwalls and surname interests. The Quiz and the Forum are hosted
seperatly and therefore do not have the same layout as the rest of the site.

Quiz - this is just a bit of fun. The quiz is general knowledge and runs daily. There are no prizes but
bragging rights are always on offer! The Quiz and the Forum are hosted seperatly and therefore do not have the same
layout as the rest of the site.
General Genealogical Links - this page has many links to
other sites that have nothing to do with BMDshare.com, but may be of interest to everyone researching their family
history.
One Name Study Sites - this page has links to sites that
concentrate on a particular name. These sites have nothing to do with BMDshare.com

that members have built to share their family history. These sites are not connected to BMDshare.com
Obscure Genealogical Sites - this page contains links to
other sites which may help some people with their family history. The link to a genealogy topic may be quite vague.

sites. These sites are not connected in any way to family history or bmdshare.com
Family History Societies - this page contains links to Family
History Societies. These Societies haveno connection with BMDshare.com.
Create A Link To BMDshare - this page is for website owners
who would like to put a link to BMDshare.com on their website. This page is designed to make it easy for website owners
with all the html code already done.
Certs For Sale - this is not the main database. This is a
additional service offered to those whohave unwanted certificates. Submitting a certificate in this section means
you are looking to sell/swap/exchange or give away the certificate. It is helpful to the site if you still enter these
certificates in the main database. This also increases your chances of finding the certificate a new home.

All the pages in this Menu are exclusive to members. Guests/visitors to the site will not be able to access these
pages unless they Register and login (except the Join Free Here page).
Login / Logout - this page takes you to the Members Home Page. You will need to login to access this page.
Actually this page serves no useful purpose but I get asked how to login/out if remove it. There is no reason
for anyone to use this page as simply clicking on the page you wish to see will prompt the login box to appear.
Your Account Control Panel - this page is where you can
access your account details, change your email address, password etc. If you cannot login to this page then it is
unlikely that you will be able to login to any of the others Members Only pages. Please use the Lost Username/Password
link if you are having problems.
Join Free Here - this is the page where all guests/visitors

you wish to submit a Birth Certificate. You will be presented with a form which asks for you to type in all the
information from the certificate.

Correct/Edit Birth Certificate - this page allows you to
see all the Birth certificates you have submitted and gives you the option to edit/correct any mistakes you spot.
If you want a certificate to be deleted from the database you need to change the Name and Surname of the person to
ERROR. They will be removed regularly without questions.
Correct/Edit Marriage Certificate- this page allows you to
see all the Marriage certificates you have submitted and gives you the option to edit/correct any mistakes you spot.
